Chatsworth Support Group
Getting Involved
What We Have Achieved
- By definition, a parent group in an international school is diverse. The members of the school community in Chatsworth represent 45+ nationalities. Parents will have differing expectations and indeed, fears, of what school life will be (like). The focus of the Chatsworth Support Group is the students. The one unifying element is our children.
- Over a period of five years, the CSG has held regular, informative and open meetings. We acknowledge and celebrate our students’ transient lifestyle with a spring fair, which focuses on them, every year. The CSG has given route and methodology for positive interaction between the school and its parent body. We regularly revisit the addressing of parent needs whilst maintaining the separation from personal interaction between parents and the school. The CSG has respectfully acknowledged and facilitated the occasional requirement of interpreters.
- All of this with the intention of building and retaining bridges to link and connect our international community, which in itself seems to be perpetually in motion. From the youngest to the eldest, the student body is comfortable to come to the CSG for ideas and for help. This is how we achieve the aims in our mission statement. Many ‘events’ in the school use ‘ideas’ and methods the CSG has developed.
- Supporting our children is the aim of the CSG.
How To Get Involved
Attend CSG meetings when they occur and /or e-mail your questions to the CSG via the address given on the CSG home page. Requests for parental assistance in class or even off campus may come directly from teachers or through the CSG. If you wish to be involved simply, contact the relevant group or the CSG.
You can assist by:
- Reading with students in class – this does not need to be your own child’s class
- Covering books or helping generally in the school library.
- Assist with sporting events / day trips
- Making festive decorations
- Reading with students in class – this does not need to be your own child’s class.
- and more!
Remember – if you volunteer, arrive on time.
Please, if volunteering to help in class – remember – let the teacher teach.
