Chatsworth Support Group
Protocol
- The Chatsworth Support Group (CSG), whilst being dynamic, holds firmly to its mission statement, student focus and values. We achieve the aims of our mission statement by supporting and participating in school activities when invited to do so.
- The CSG is NOT a Parent Teacher Association (PTA); it is NOT a Parent Committee. Chatsworth International School has an active 'Open Door' policy.
- Meetings - please come with an open mind. Do not bring preconceived ideas of what a parent group should be into the CSG meetings. At Chatsworth, we are part of a multi-national, multi-cultural community therefore everyone's expectations will be different. For many of us English is not a first language. At CSG meetings we ask attendees to consider the implications of this and allow each other time to finish speaking and be considerate of each other's national and cultural sensitivities.
- Information - the CSG is happy to respond to all questions about general school matters or expatriate life. All discussion should be informative, open and positive.
- The CSG will never represent or speak on behalf of parents, rather we encourage parents to discuss and interact freely and positively with all members of the school community utilising the 'open door' policy.
- An introduction to Singapore meeting takes place at the start of each academic year for all parents and guardians. Thereafter, meetings occur as and when the need arises, usually just prior to Singapore's many festivals.
- We celebrate Chatsworth’s internationalism and actively connect with, encourage and respect all members of our schools multi cultural community. We openly welcome new families to Chatsworth and both value and celebrate our longstanding community members.
- As head of the CSG I can be contacted easily via reception using the e-mail address of Chatsworth reception violet@chatsworth.com.sg
